I came to next step village broken and defeated. I lived there for 18 months, if it wasn’t for Next Step Village I definitely wouldn’t have had the foundation for the recovery I have now. It provided me with the structure I needed to learn how to live a life clean and sober. A life this addict had never dreamt possible. Things that I learned their helped me become an acceptable responsible and productive member of society. I was able to to build amazing relationships with the staff there as well. I had an amazing role model to look up to, the female house manager Shawna. The relationship that I had with here was a changing expierance, she was able to build me up when I was broken, help me thru the hard times, and share her experience strength and hope with me. Even the male house manager Mike was there even just to listen to Bruce Springsteen to decompress. I truly believe without this place I wouldn’t have the life I have today. The program coordinator was Raquel was always so easy to talk with; and I could not have asked for a better director. Troy always had an open door and was alway there to listen and suggest solutions to the problems I faced. Millie B.
This place was amazing. I was here for over a year. The staff is great. I highly recommend this place it's life changing. Aimee B.
I honestly could not have remained sober without the guidance and support of the staff at Next Step Village. It’s a strong program with the structure and accountability that we in addiction need. At every corner, I had a fellowship in NSV to help guide me through my recovery process. I recommend NSV as the essential next step after rehab. I am now one year clean and have attained the ability to move into my own home with the confidence and strength to remain clean. This is a wonderful place! The important thing is to stay within their support circle for as long as one can. I have an amazing life now :)
This sober living is outstanding, one of the BEST places i have been. The staff is absolutely amazing and they will do everything to make sure you are comfortable and your needs are met.
This aftercare facility helped keep me sober by providing an excellent and safe place where I learned accountability, trust, and community. The facility is well kept and the staff is amazing.
The last thing I thought I would be doing at 60 years old was going into a residential treatment program for my alcoholism- but that is exactly what happened to me. After a two month stay in the Intense Outpatient program I feel AMAZING and CONFIDENT that I will not drink again. The facility is clean and the staff so caring and talented in what they do. I felt completely at home after a few days of learning the "routine" and feel very blessed to have spent time there. i have already been asked about my experience at Next Step Village by some members of my AA group and I recommended it with no reservations because it was HUGE for me to get me over the hump. They know how to treat you and get you down the right path IF YOU WANT IT. Great place......
I lived at Next Step Village for 7 months. When I left everyone on the staff felt like family and always will be. I can't say enough about them. They were always there to support and guide me through the process. Living there helped me gain the tools I needed to succeed!
I am an alcoholic who lived at NSV from December of 2016 until January of 2018. My experience at NSV was positive and I left NSV feeling confident in my ability to “take the next step” in my recovery journey. The staff created an environment for me to experience growth and to find a way to get my life in order. I had to be open to trying a new way of life, willing to do a considerable amount of introspection and humble enough to admit that I didn’t have the answers. Yes, the rules are juvenile and tedious. I was frustrated and annoyed. Once I recognized that my attitude, not my circumstances had to change everything fell into place. I put my recovery above EVERYTHING (to include money, men and my wants). I got a sponsor WORKED THE STEPS, went to the therapy appointments, got a part time job, enrolled in cosmetology school, did the chores, woke up for meditation and was home for curfew. With the strength of a power greater than myself, the help of the supportive and encouraging staff, and the sacrifice of my old way of thinking I built a strong foundation for my new life. I left NSV having completed the steps, sponsoring a handful of ladies, with over a year of sobriety, a network of strong sober friends and living an absolute fairytale. ALL because I lived in a safe environment, had the support of the staff and was willing and humble.
I lived here from March until August of 2016 following a stay at The Recovery Village. Along with being a beautiful home with all the amenities one could need, I appreciated the staff the greatly, and thank them for being a vital part of my life long recovery. The care and quality work given by the therapists and staff helped me to be able to handle life on life’s terms, and integrate into a life of sobriety. Furthermore, I still make visits to NSV to catch up with long time friends working here, and to support the place and people to whom I feel deeply indebted to and eternally grateful for.
Having tried the road to recovery and taken the wrong path more than once it was nice to have found Next Step Village and the services Advanced Recovery had to offer. The staff was friendly and well trained in dual diagnosis which is exactly what I needed. The living accommodations were up to par and offered a variety of employment opportunities nearby to assist me in getting on my feet. Having lived at both the Male Sober House in Eustis, FL and coming to Next Step Village in Maitland I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleased that my recovery always came first even when helping me deal with my issues going on back home. I am truly grateful for the staff helping me realize that sobriety is and option in my life even during the hardest times. I recommend Advanced Recovery and praise these sober living facilities for maintaining the highest standard in Central Florida I have yet to hear of. If you or a loved one are seeking treatment Advanced Recovery should most definitely be considered an option.
I came to Next Step Village a broken person, I had just spent 41 days at Orlando Recovery Center but I still needed so much more help. NSV gave me the structure I needed to start living life like the the average person. Simple rules that may seem overwhelming at first made me a responsible person. The supportive staff and house managers were always there when I needed to talk and most of them are in recovery themselves and could relate to whatever I was going through. I left with strength and encouragement to face the world and the next chapter in my life. I owe God and Next Step Village my life and I recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction who needs help getting there life back.
Ive been told on more than one occasion, that when i talk about NSV, I sound like an advertisement. And its true; If you told me a year ago that I would be so fond of a structured sober living home- I would have doubted you, wholeheartedly. Just yesterday, I shocked myself when someone asked me "How's it going at NSV?" and I replied with a genuine "Its Great!"; complete with ridiculously sincere big ol' grin on my face. Honestly, its embarrassing how truly happy I am here. Next Step Village has given me the tools to enjoy life again without the use of drugs or alcohol. I arrived at NSV skeptical & hesitant of sharing a home with 40+ other people in the pursuit of sobriety; I couldn't be more pleased with the physical, mental & emotional stability I've found at my NSV home. I could go on about how beautiful the grounds are- the main housing offers sweeping views of the lake its situated on. When my brother & sister visited me on separate occasions (the same siblings I hadn't talked to for close to 2 years prior to arriving on the Maitland campus), one of the first things they both mentioned was "This place is soo much nicer than the images on their website!". There are plenty of easy ways to socialize; there's a pool, volleyball/basketball areas & clubhouse that provides a ping pong & pool table, projector room & computer area. Despite the diverse age & backgrounds of my all housemates, I feel everyone treats each other with respect & care. The intensive outpatient group therapy that is enforced in able to reside here, has helped create a bond with these friends. There is consistently someone around to talk to- client or staff. I always feel safe in addressing my concerns & I continue to be brutally honest with my house managers, Shawna & Erica. I never feel judged by staff which has allowed me to become a more humble, truthful person to myself. They treat me with respect & have earned the same reverence from me. It sounds like such a cliche to say how tremendously grateful I am to have my life back & what a major role NSV continues to have in my recovery. Living here has created opportunities in my life I never thought were possible. Who knew in 7 months I could from 'crashing' on floors of drug dealers/ jails & hospital ICUs to studying for my higher education entrance level exams, working a fun job & applying to graduate schools. I have never had so much hope for the future & Next Step Village has given me the stability to make it all possible.
Initially weary of any “sober living” or “half way house” I found that the accommodations at this facility far exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are clean and spacious, and there are many amenities to be enjoyed while on the grounds. Plus, transportation is provided to meetings, group sessions, and doctor appointments. I highly recommend this facility to others.
This aftercare program is wonderful. I spent a year in housing and outpatient with Next Step Village. My experience was life-changing.
